How the PCP is funded
Many people ask us how we get the funds together to help with the various projects we contribute to. This is done in a number of ways.
We receive donations from companies and individuals. We
have received monies from Dean and Reddyhoff towards
safety boat training for young people. The local Rotary
club has also given us money to use on youth projects.
When working on larger projects, like the skate park in
Chiswell, we have made funding applications ourselves.
These have included programmes like Living Spaces and
Awards for All.
The PCP has also held some very successful fundraising
dinners with raffles and auctions included. The dinners
usually fund specific projects that the PCP has
supported.
All money raised goes directly to help the people of
Portland. The PCP is a non-profit organisation and is
run by people giving their time and expertise for free.
We hope by using new mediums like the internet we can
get our message across to all of Portland and also be of
use to the individuals and businesses of the island.
